Comments: Broadleaf flowering plant native to Mexico and Central America. This "tree" is actually a perennial herbaceous plant that sends up 8' to 15' bamboo-like shoots from a rhizome. Large lavender colored flowers in the fall. Unfortunately, the property on which this plant was growing is being developed and has been completely cleared.
