Comments: Broadleaf deciduous tree native to the eastern United States. Leaves are doubly compound and 1' to 2' in length, leaflets are 1" to 2" dark green and ovate. Seedpods are similar to Carob, but the seeds are poisonous unless cooked. Mature trees to 100'in height and oval in shape. Native indians used the seeds, bark and leaves for food.
