Comments: Evergreen gymnosperm, closely related to the conifers, native to Europe, Asia and N. America, but mainly Europe and Asia. Dark green 1" sharp needles spiraled about branch. Sparse bright red fruit with black seed exposed in center. Specimen tree 15' but mature trees to 100' with the oldest tree believed to be over 2,000 years old.
