Comments: Conifer, native of Mediterranean area; provides the famous sky-line in Rome. It has a sturdy trunk and a broad umbrella-like crown of heavy branches. It has shiny, stiff, dark green needles and the 3"-5" cones contain large, hard-shelled edible seeds.
